If you’re reading this first blog post, the chances are high that we are personal friends. As always, I thank you for your support.
For those of you who are reading this any have no clue how you got here or who I am, I’ll give you the “nickel tour”…
My name is Megan Orvis Morris. I realize that’s a bit of a tongue twister. My friends have often called me “Morvis” though the name I go by MOST is “Orvis. And my kids love the idea that my initials spell MOM.
I have lived most of my life in an area called Rancho Bernardo, which is in North San Diego County. It’s known to the locals as simply “RB.” RB is a master planned community with great schools, great golf, and great PEOPLE. The truth is, there are a LOT of great things about living in North San Diego. I’m looking forward to telling you all about them. My parents first moved me here as a baby in 1974 and I still live here now raising my 3 boys.
My goal with this blog is to make it more that just another real estate blog. As a REALTOR® with 20 years experience, it turns out that I know a few things. (haha) There is a lot more to share that just the typical “canned” blog content. Here’s what I aim to deliver:
Market Insights No real estate blog is complete without market updates so, Of COURSE I will give insights on the local market. Those of you currently living here will get a general idea about what your home is worth (and I’m always happy to do a deeper dive for a specific property for anyone who needs it). Those of you who don’t yet live here may learn why it is that so many people have chosen to make North San Diego County their home.
Homeownership As a homeowner and as a REALTOR® I want to share with you what I have learned about protecting our homes. These are things like easy fixes that come up most often in inspection reports, maintenance considerations, and other tidbits you may find helpful. In many cases our homes are our largest investments and I want to help you protect them. (Bonus! And because I grew up with an engineer father, I have some great knowledge about how things work, too.) I’m looking to share all of this with you.
Life Hacks & Lessons Let’s face it…life is busy and it’s easy to fall behind. As a busy, working mom, I know how important it is to streamline life. Sometimes this means cutting corners and sometimes it means simply having systems in place. And let’s be honest…I’ve walked into a LOT of homes (pre-listing) and have noticed that not everyone can keep up with all that life expects us to accomplish. I’ll be sharing some of the best things I’ve seen out there “in the field” that work for other busy families.
Hyperlocal Happenings Where we live is much more than just our street address…it’s about community! For this reason I will also be using this blog as a place to share upcoming area events…and I’m a bit of a foodie so I’ll share my favorite places, too.
