The Hotspot of the Week is the Elmisa Café, a breakfast and lunch café located near the Westwood neighborhood of Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, CA.
On February 10, 2020, a brand new eatery opened its doors for a “soft opening” in Rancho Bernardo. Immediately the surrounding community of Westwood started chattering about Elmisa Café and its delicious food. If there’s one thing we can expect of Westwood, a subdivision of Rancho Bernardo, it’s that we support our people and our local family-owned businesses.
Elmisa Café is conveniently located at the corner of West Bernardo Road and Rancho Bernardo Road, in the “old Starbucks” location. The space got a charming remodel and patrons are greeted by a large “gather” sign on the wall upon entering. You can imagine that there is no gathering going on at Elmisa these days… But the owners are committed to keep our bellies full of their delicious food.
In response to our recent “stay-at-home” order, Elmisa has remained open for takeout and delivery. They offer curbside delivery to your car if you do not wish to go inside. If you do plan to venture inside, the door is usually propped open and to-go orders are held in a separate area away from others. What are people raving about? The flavor profiles, the freshness of the ingredients, and their selection of hand crafted coffee beverages and smoothies. They have hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, salads, flatbreads, and more! They even have kombucha on tap!
