La Jolla

La Jolla is a densely populated suburban area occupying roughly seven miles along the Pacific Coast. It is the home of the University of California, San Diego, the La Jolla State Marine Reserve and Conservation Area, and the majestic Torrey Pine. Picture a European inspired estate mansion with a view of the California coastline.
Rancho Santa Fe

Rancho Santa Fe has more open space than the beach. But it is conveniently located within a short drive to the ocean, because the neighborhood is east of Del Mar. Del Mar

Cardiff

Encinitas

Solana Beach

Solana Beach is a coastal community located north of Del Mar and south of Encinitas. Fletcher Cove is a great beach for children with a playground and basketball courts. There are tide pools to explore at Tide Beach Park. The bustling strip along Highway 101 has many bars, restaurants, galleries, and shops to patronize.
Pacific Beach

The 92109 zip code includes Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Mission Bay and Sea World. The popular tourist destination is densely populated by both visitors and locals. As such the beach houses along the waterfront command a hefty price tag. But they are considered to be turnkey investment properties.
Point Loma

The Point Loma Pennisula, or zip codes 92106 and 92017, includes Ocean Beach, Point Loma, and Shelter Island. The Point Loma Naval Base gives it a strong military presence. Carlsbad

Carlsbad includes the stretch of coast south of Oceanside and north of Encinitas. But it sticks out far inland into San Marcos, Vista, and Rancho Santa Fe. It is best know for attractions like Legoland California and the Flower Fields. Carlsbad State Beach is considered a conservation area and there is beach camping available.
